Ben Gazzara (August 28, 1930 – February 3, 2012)

Ben Gazzara (August 28, 1930 – February 3, 2012) was an American film, stage, and Emmy award winning television actor, and a television director.
He had roles in approximately 50 films from 1957 through 2012, but her was never finer than as Jackie Treehorn in the 1998 Coen Brothers’ classic, The Big Lebowski.
Cremation at Wat Rajcharoen
It was rather strange, but certainly interesting, to spend part of Christmas day attending an elaborate cremation ceremony for a venerable old Buddhist monk.

Our week in review
Lots going on lately around here in Tri Kaew. Wan’s daughter and her girlfriend were up from Bangkok for a visit, and Bruce Bridges came up from Chiang Mai after they left. We rode motorbikes to Chiang Khong….visited Wat Rong Khun and Khun Korn Waterfall….among other things.

Wan’s roses
Wan has a green thumb when it comes to gardening. Fruits, vegetables, flowers….you name it and she can grow it.

Happy to report that Wan and I made it to Doi Mae Salong and back in one piece on my 125cc Honda Dream…..including the INSANELY steep climb up to the top of Phra Boromathat Chedi.
This is one of the most interesting and unique places in Thailand. If you have not been there, then I recommend that you go.
