27 November 2004. The first serious snow since I arrived, almost nine months ago, took place this week. I was in a colder environment, than any I recall being in previously - and this is just the beginning. The enormous, down-filled coat that John Hikido and Alex Tarazi gave me as a going away present has finally become not only useful, but essential for outdoor survival. It is incredibly warm.

Here's a shot of my apartment after the first snow of Fall/Winter 2004. Unfortunately my balcony is of the rare "unenclosed" variety, so I was forced to seal the door shut with tape a few weeks back to keep the cold air out.

I will be able to enjoy my balcony again sometime in late Spring.
