I decided to take a bus up to Chiang Rai to check it out.
the monks have their own seating area at bus stations and aiarports lots of songthews waiting around for people who need rides I took a 24 seat V-class bus (the most deluxe). It is similar to business
class on an airplane. The seats are big and comfy. There is one seat on
the right side of the aisle and 2 seats on the left side of the aisle, and
a stewardess. The cost each way was 263 baht ($8.75). Security checkpoint. A policeman boarded our bus and he checked my passport.
I stayed at Baan Bua It cost 350 baht a night ($11.66) for a basic fan room, which, when you consider I am
paying 220 baht a day for my immaculate air-con room at Boonthavon, is not such a good deal.
The golden Clocktower in Chiang Rai is the work of the Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipap. The Chiang Rai Clocktower echos Chalermchai’s revolutionary design of the White Temple, Wat Rong Khun

the mosque looks strangely out of place in a country with so many Buddhist temples
